What is a children’s surgeon?
Children's surgeons encompass many different types of pediatric surgeons who specialize in surgically treating various conditions in children of all ages. Our pediatric surgeons are experts in caring for the unique needs of children. They are dedicated to making children comfortable while reducing the parent’s concerns and apprehensions. Critical areas of pediatric surgery have been brought together under one roof at Children's of Mississippi. All are available to support the Center for Maternal and Fetal Care.
If advanced care is needed, pediatric surgeons work in collaboration with a team of expert subspecialists through UMMC’s Center for Maternal and Fetal Care. This multidisciplinary team works together to care for both the mother and child’s unique needs - all under one roof.
